I forgot to mention the difference between:
1-2 seen as a general principle used all over the world (timing and amount of strikes), but for some also seen as a classic boxing combo training (3-2) terminology (I do not refer to that).
This 1-2 pattern = also applicable to attacks with melee weapons. Most people perform a 1, 1-2 or a bunch of attacks after each other. In between, you have this variety! The classification is made to simplify strikes in reality.
